An Iranian man was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Wednesday for allegedly carrying four kilogrammes of methamphetamine hidden in his suitcase.
Keyvan Ghanavatirajabnejad, 33, walked through the nothing-to-declare channel after arriving on an Emirates flight from Dubai.
However he was arrested after anti-narcotics officials found a bag of pure methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, concealed in a special compartment of his luggage.
He was charged with smuggling illicit drugs and possession of drugs with intent to supply.
The suspect refused to talk to police, saying he did not understand English and asked for a translator.
