UPDATE : 25 February 2010
The red-shirt group has planned a March 14 mass demonstration with Sanam Luang and Rajdamnoen Avenue as its main rally sites.
Core leader of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship, or DAAD, Weera Musikapong, revealed the group has resolved to stage a mass rally on March 14 while protesters from upcountry will be mobilized to Bangkok beginning March 12.
Weera said the decision stemmed from the government's smear campaigns against the DAAD, including its accusation that recent red-shirt protests were motivated by the 76 billion-baht assets seizure case against fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Another DAAD core leader Nattawut Saikeau said the group will use Sanam Luang and Rajdamnoen Avenue as its rally sites and expects a million people to join the demonstration.
Nutthawut also dismissed a speculation on disunity among the group's core leaders. He added the Red Siam faction, led by Army Specialist Major General Kattiya Sawasdipol, has the right to hold its own rally but insisted that DAAD is not involved with the group and will not take responsibility if its activities lead to chaos.
