Two rocket-propelled grenades were fired at a fuel depot of the Royal Thai Army's Quartermaster Division in Nonthaburi. The targeted oil container, however, was empty.
Two grenades were fired at a fuel depot in Nonthaburi province late last night. The depot is located on the grounds of the Royal Thai Army's Quartermaster Division.
Nonthaburi Governor Wichien Putthiwinyu, together with Army Quartermaster General Lieutenant General Thawee Chaemchamras, Provincial Police Bureau 1 Commissioner Police Lieutenant General Krisada Pankongchuen and bomb specialists, inspected the crime scene and collected evidence.
Investigators have been ordered to search for clues to identify the perpetrators.
Questioning of witnesses has revealed that one of four men on two motorcycles fired the grenades from Soi Saithong 15 behind the division. Shrapnel of the grenades have been collected for analysis.
The targeted oil tank is capable of holding ten million liters of fuel, but fortunately, it was empty at the time of the attack.
