An executive from the golf course in Chanthaburi province has denied that the Privy Council chief is involved in its business, as previously alleged by the red-shirt group.
Lieutenant General Paravi Charnlekha, general manager of Soi Dao Highland Golf Club and Resort in Chanthaburi province, has denied that Privy Council Chief General Prem Tinsulanonda is involved in its business or holds shares in the company, as claimed by the Democratic Alliance against Dictatorship.
However, Lieutenant General Paravi said General Prem has played golf at the golf course on several occasions, and that was quite a long time ago.
He noted that the Privy Council chief came to the golf course for a holiday and was given VIP treatment because of his status.
In response to reports that the DAAD is planning a rally at the golf course, the general manager said the club will consider serious legal action should the red-shirt demonstrators trespass on private property or infringe the rights of others.
The 1,200-rai Soi Dao Highland Golf Club and Resort is situated in the heart of the Soi Dao Tai mountain in Chanthaburi's Pong Nam Ron district.
Opened in December 1993, the club is complete with an 18-hole golf course, a 46-room luxury hotel, and a first-rate club house.
The red-shirt group alleged that the club encroached on public land in the areas between Soi Dao and Pong Nam Ron districts.
