Deputy Prime Minister for economic affairs Trairong Suwankiri said he is setting up a 30-member advisory team responsible for developing four key economic sectors and restructuring of the country’s economic system.
The team’s main purpose will be to provide recommendations on how to settle the problems in the four key areas --the agricultural, industrial, logistics, and monetary and fiscal sectors and mapping out a 30-40 year strategy for the development of the four sectors.
Individuals on the team will include former finance ministers Thanin Nimmanhaemin and Pridiyathorn Devakula, chairman of Thailand Development Research Institute Niphon Puapongsakorn, and Praipol Khumsap, a lecturer at Thammasat University’s economics faculty.
